Day 1 — Processes & Metallurgy
- SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and SAW in practice
- Heat input, HAZ behaviour and hydrogen cracking
- Consumable control and storage failures
Day 2 — Qualification
- WPS, PQR and WQT to ASME Section IX
- Essential vs non-essential variables — audit exercise
- Common qualification package errors
Day 3 — Defects & NDT
- Defect catalogue with real macro sections
- Radiograph interpretation workshop
- UT, MT, PT capability and limitations
Day 4 — Inspection Practice & Exam Preparation
- Inspection and test plans, hold and witness points
- NCR, repair and re-inspection workflow
- CSWIP 3.1 question drills and mock paper
Practical Work
Practical exercises and case studies
Sessions are built around calculations, data interpretation and technical decisions. Case material is generic or anonymised — no client-confidential project data is used.
Visual inspection practice on sample welds with acceptance criteria applied
Radiograph and macro interpretation exercises against code acceptance limits
