CPD Engineering Training for Professional Development

Selected ProTrain programmes provide recognised CPD hours or points where accreditation has been obtained. Every programme is structured technical learning with a published outline, contact hours and documented trainer credentials.

How We State CPD

Accreditation claimed only where it has been granted

Accreditation is programme-specific and can change. We publish what applies to each programme and clearly mark anything still in process.

Where accreditation exists

The course page displays the CPD hours or points alongside the contact hours, and your documentation pack includes the outline, learning outcomes and trainer credentials that professional bodies expect as evidence.

Where accreditation is pending

The course page states "CPD Accreditation: Pending / To Be Confirmed". The programme still runs as structured technical training with published contact hours — we simply do not imply approval that has not been granted.

Why It Counts

What makes a technical programme CPD-worthy

  • A published outline with defined contact hours, not an open-ended briefing
  • Measurable learning outcomes written as tasks the engineer can perform afterwards
  • Trainer credentials that a professional body can verify
  • Applied work — calculations, drawings, radiographs and failure data, not slides only
  • Completion records issued promptly for your CPD log

Common Questions

CPD questions engineers ask us

What is CPD in engineering?

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the structured technical learning engineers complete to maintain and extend their competence after qualifying. Professional bodies — such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) for Professional Engineers — require a minimum number of CPD hours or points each year, supported by documented evidence of the learning activity.

Do ProTrain courses carry CPD hours or points?

Selected ProTrain programmes carry recognised CPD hours or points where accreditation has been obtained, and the course page states the exact allocation. Where accreditation is still in process the page says so plainly — we never imply approval that has not been granted. Confirm the status for your professional body at booking.

What documentation do I receive for my CPD log?

Every participant receives a completion record with the course outline, published contact hours, learning outcomes and trainer credentials — the evidence pack professional bodies typically expect when assessing a CPD entry.

Are CPD courses also HRD Corp claimable?

Many ProTrain programmes are HRD Corp claimable for eligible Malaysian employers, independently of their CPD status. Claimability is scheme- and programme-specific, so we confirm it in writing at proposal stage.

Can in-house training count toward CPD?

Yes — structured in-house programmes with a published outline, defined contact hours and documented trainer credentials are generally countable as CPD, subject to your professional body's rules. We issue the same documentation pack for in-house delivery as for public courses.
