Detailed programme content
Day 1 — Gas Supply, Treating & Conditioning
- Why LNG: energy demand in Asia, trade flows and the Malaysian and regional position
- Feed gas composition, contaminants and the consequence of each on liquefaction
- Acid gas removal, dehydration, mercury removal and heavy hydrocarbon extraction
- Fractionation and NGL recovery interfaces with the liquefaction train
- Specification workshop: reading an LNG product specification sheet
Day 2 — Liquefaction, Storage & Shipping
- Refrigeration cycles: cascade, propane pre-cooled mixed refrigerant and single mixed refrigerant
- Main cryogenic heat exchangers, compressors and drivers
- LNG tanks: full containment, membrane and pressure vessel types
- Boil-off gas management, heel, rollover and inventory control
- LNG carriers, loading arms, ship-shore compatibility and voyage losses
Day 3 — Regasification, Commercial & Operating Reality
- Onshore terminals, FSRUs and vaporiser technology selection
- Send-out control, gas quality management and nitrogen ballasting
- Small-scale LNG, LNG bunkering and virtual pipeline models in Southeast Asia
- Sale and purchase agreements, pricing indices, take-or-pay and destination clauses
- Case exercise: trace a cargo from wellhead to burner tip and identify loss points
